About China Moon

Chinese Take-Out Under new management

China Moon is a chinese restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida. It is listed at 1540 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139, which places it among the local businesses of Miami Beach that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under delivery chinese restaurant, restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Miami Beach; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Florida are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–10 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (305) 532-8758. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Its Google rating stands at 3.4 out of 5 from 266 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

I’ve ordered from this place for years, but today was the last straw. The food they sent was ROTTEN. The soup smelled bad, tasted worse, and when I called them out they tried to lie and say they β€˜put vinegar’ in it β€” clearly trying to cover up spoiled food. The ribs were dry and inedible. This is disgusting and dangerous. I’ll be reporting this place to the health inspector. Avoid this restaurant at all costs

It used to be a good spot in the neighborhood for quick, comforting Chinese food. Not anymore. I got takeout for $50 worth of food that doesn't taste anything like it used to and doesn't even taste like Chinese food. Placing an order over the phone was a struggle of its own, because I don't speak fluent Spanish. This place closed down for a bit and then reopened. I guess the previous owners are not there anymore; that's why this "Chinese" food has all kinds of flavors but Chinese food. The wonton soup has way too much soy sauce in it. The chicken lo mein doesn't taste anything like it's supposed to. Crab rangoon served without sauce. Disappointing. I wish the previous owners were still in business. Alas, it will be the last time ordering there. It was good while it lasted.

Wonderful food. Got it delivered. The woman I spoke to on the phone about my delivery status was very kind. Easy hand off. The food! So delicious. Clsssic egg drop soup, beef friend rice was cooked just the way I personally like it. I like my friend rice to be darker and they cook it that way here, which I love! The crab rangoons were great. The sauce was different than what I normally get at Chinese food places, but it was so great! I’m not from the area, but i hope to come here again when I am in the Miami area!

Not the China Moon we loved in South Beach! So disappointed now that they are β€œunder new management”! GROSS! When did fried dumplings become empanadas? Where is the sauce on the broccoli with chicken? Why is a main meal shrimp dish served with popcorn shrimp? Wow! They will lose a ton of frequent customers for sure. Barely eatable. Don’t waste your money.

This used to be my favorite neighborhood Chinese place. I was so excited to eat my hot and sour soup and fried rice, but unfortunately, they were both unrecognizable in look and taste. The soup looked like pure soy sauce- and it tasted like it also. The first photo is the soup with added water in it, because I tried to dilute it. So imagine it before. Absolutely inedible. The rice was just ok- edible compared to the soup, but I’m now done and feel like I just put way too much soy sauce in my system. My husband also didn’t like his chicken noodle soup. I called to complain and the woman who answered the phone then divulged that there is new management. This is a huge disappointment for us as China Moon used to have the best fried rice ever! Will miss this place so much. :(
